Gotcha Day! Three years ago today Jonah became ours. It's interesting looking back at the work of God's hand and being blown away by how He does what He does. The six years leading up to our adoption process and the 12 months of the process itself were not pleasant at all. We had questions and doubts and fears. Now, through the perfect vision afforded to us by hindsight, we can see that the path we once considered a troublesome burden actually lead us to great joy. Disappointingly, much like the people of Israel in the Old Testament and the disciples of Jesus, we have short memories. We know with certainty that God is in control when looking backwards, but foolishly don't find Him trustworthy as we move forward. We need days like this to remind us that God is good. Even when he doesn't seem to be.

We intended to take the boys to Disneyland to celebrate this big day, but rain made us change our plans. Here's what we did instead...

We started the day with a healthy breakfast

Then went to an indoor play area

Micah did a great job navigating the obstacles

Our little monkey
(this caption makes us think of another family who has a Gotcha Day
today too - Hope you had a great day with Monkey & Spike)

Hot dog and fries for lunch followed by a banana split

Spent the afternoon riding Motorcylces

More fun and games
