We got the call! We are full of excitement and anticipation. The last few weeks of waiting have been very difficult, but the end (actually, the beginning) is now in sight.  We will be leaving for Korea on January 17th and returning WITH JONAH on the 23rd.

Based on guidance we received from Rachel (our fantastic social worker throughout this process), and from several adoption books we have read, we will be going into a period of seclusion with Jonah. It seems like we have been waiting for Jonah for years, but he has not been waiting for us. He is going to be separated from the only family he has ever known and will likely grieve that separation. We don't know how long it will take him to attach to us and until we feel comfortable that he recognizes us as his parents we are not going to have any visitors. When we feel comfortable with his attachment to us, we will slowly start to introduce him to family and friends. This will not be easy for us. We recognize that many of you are eager to meet him and we appreciate your understanding through this transitional period.

We will be posting to the blog as often as we can (including the time we are in Korea, if possible) so at least you'll be able to see current pictures.
