It's 3:00 Friday afternoon in Seoul.
We were trying to stay up until night time before going to bed yesterday, but we couldn't do it. We were in bed and asleep by 4:00 in the afternoon. We all woke up at 2:00 AM and went back to sleep at 4:30 AM. We got up at 7:30 and got ready for our trip to the adoption agency. After signing some papers and collecting documents we were ushered to a room where we were to wait for Micah and his foster mom. It was quite nostalgic because it was the room where Jonah's foster mom left him with us the last time she saw him. We finally saw Micah at 10:30.

We only got to spend 30 minutes with Micah today as he had to go and see the doctor for his regular check up at 11:00. Meeting him was much different than our meeting with Jonah, primarily because Micah is much older than Jonah was when we met him. Lucia spent much of the time gathering information from Micah's foster mom while Jonah managed to play with a new selection of toys, showing only a little interest in Micah. On several occasions Micah took toys over to his Mommy and handed them to her. He wasn't interested in his Daddy. We will see Micah again on Tuesday afternoon and that is when he will become ours. We're looking forward to it, but after todays meeting we are predicting that it is not going to be a smooth transition.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I was so surprised when I opened your blog and found out you were in Seoul! Micah looks beautiful. I have friends in Seoul right now picking up their youngest son. Their names are Cori and Jeff and their oldest son is named Seth.

Oh, Phil and Lucia, Micah is such a beautiful boy. Thank you so much for sharing. I couldn't help but laugh and cry while watching the video, seeing Jonah interact with his little brother and Lucia with her son for the first time. Congratulations to you all. Prayers for a smooth transition and easy trip home.
